Real Madrid striker Joselu sent the Santiago Bernabeu wild when his late double overturned the Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich.
- Joselu struck twice for Madrid
- Brought hosts back from 1-0 down
- VAR review showed he was onside
- WHAT HAPPENED?After Alphonso Davies fired Bayern to a 1-0 lead in the second leg of the tie in the Spanish capital, Joselu nipped in to pounce on a mistake from Manuel Neuer and grab a late equaliser, levelling matters at 3-3 on aggregate. Not long afterwards, he was on the end of a cross from Antonio Rudiger and knocked it past Neuer to make it 2-1. The second effort was initially ruled out for offside, but a VAR review showed that Joselu was onside when the cross came in and the referee awarded the goal.
Joselu’s first strike came less than 10 minutes after he came off the bench to replace Federico Valverde and his second goal was around three minutes later. Two of the forward’s first three touches in the game were goals.
Joselu’s goals brought Madrid back from 3-2 down on aggregate to give them a 4-3 lead over the two legs, ensuring they go on to meet Borussia Dortmund in the final of the competition at Wembley on June
